'Troubadours' Premiered on PBS Series 'American Masters'
Los Angeles, CA - Troubadours, a documentary chronicling the California singer/songwriter movement in the '70's, premiered in March 2011 on the award-winning series American Masters on PBS. Troubadours was among the films selected for the U.S. Documentary Competition at the 2011 Sundance Film Festival and received the coveted Audience Choice Award. Released by Concord Music Group, the documentary was produced by Eddie Schmidt and directed by Morgan Neville of Tremolo Productions.
Carole King and James Taylor are among the artists featured in the film; other artists and musicians include Jackson Browne, Joni Mitchell, Bonnie Raitt, David Crosby, Roger McGuinn, Danny Kortchmar, Leland Sklar, Russell Kunkel, and many more. The film sets the story around the famed Hollywood club, The Troubadour, tracing its involvement in connecting - and launching the careers of - many of the legendary artists we know today.
Troubadours began airing Wednesday, March 2, 2011 nationwide and continued throughout the month of March.
