'Troubadours' Available on DVD/CD
The award-winning documentary film, Troubadours: Carole King, James Taylor, and the Rise of the Singer-Songwriter , was released March 1, 2011 on DVD/CD. The film recounts the rise of Taylor and King, as well as many other performers including Steve Martin, Jackson Browne, David Crosby, Roger McGuinn, Bonnie Raitt, Eagles, Joni Mitchell, Elton John to name a few.
Covering a pivotal time in music history, Troubadours sets the story around the famed Hollywood club, tracing its involvement in connecting - and launching the careers of - many of these legendary artists. King's Tapestry and Taylor's Sweet Baby James albums had an enormous impact when they were released, and still enjoy popularity today.
Troubadours also includes archival clips of performances and scenes from the Taylor/King performances at the Troubadour in 2007 and 2010's highly-acclaimed Troubadour Reunion Tour.
Troubadours premiered in March 2011 on the award-winning series American Masters on PBS. Troubadours was among the films selected for the U.S. Documentary Competition at the 2011 Sundance Film Festival and received the coveted Audience Choice Award. Released by Concord Music Group, the documentary was produced by Eddie Schmidt and directed by Morgan Neville of Tremolo Productions.
