Honesty is Back - Carole King Announces Summer Concert 'Living Room Tour'
LOS ANGELES, CA - Carole King: The Living Room Tour was a return to honesty and basics with an intimate production reminiscent of her earliest performances as a singer/songwriter. King's first concert tour in over a decade was inspired by the simplicity of the shows King performed in living rooms and small venues around the country this year in support of Presidential candidate John Kerry. However, for this tour, it was all about the music.
This special evening showcased songs from over 40 years of great pop songwriting, achieved by performing two sets at each concert. Carole was accompanied by Rudy Guess, her guitarist, musical director and producer. "Getting to play every night with Rudy is one of several reasons why I decided in favor of going on tour this year," said King. "He makes my musical life better, easier and more fun." Joining them on this tour is one of Carole's favorite co-writers and singers, Gary Burr, a Nashville-based award-winning songwriter. "Gary is a gifted singer and guitarist who combines the sensibility of the working man with that of a poet," King added. "I look forward to sharing these two talented people with my audience."

Between trips to Capitol Hill as an environmental activist (on behalf of H.R. 1105, the Northern Rockies Ecosystem Protection Act, now known as H.R. 3334), and campaigning for John Kerry, "This year has been exhilarating," said King. "I've been traveling almost non-stop," King continued, "but I'm hoping to be able to rest on November 3rd."
